Lady of Shalott/ Patience and Caring

The story the lady of shalott makes us a really important emphasis in the values of patience and caring.

The lady of shalott being a very mysterious woman also teach us to wait, to stay calm during rough situations and be totally patience since being cursed is not the best thing in the world and care about others meanwhile having serious problems. When we talk about patience we talk about learning to accept any kind of situation and act prudent enough to take control of our words and actions. When we talk about caring is to take into account everything around us including ourselves, including the people who hurt us and the people who doesn’t have the ability to be totally honest to their way of being.

This values can be related since if you care for something or about someone you develop the value of being patience and the courage of knowing that not everything around us is like we wanted to be or as we planned to. This values are the base of so many more values and in the case of this story we learned that sometimes the things we do even if there are right or wrong are going to be consequences and we have to accept  and be patient. Sometimes our problems consumed our style of living and our way of behaving, but at some point for ourselves we care enough to start acting as we are supposed to, we should take this values into account and continue applying them into our lifes.

The lady of shalott at the end of the story may seem a little desperate of being free our finding her freedom or finally get rid of the curse, but what she really doesn’t understand is that maybe the cursed was the salvation of something terrible waiting for her outside and that at some point will take advantage of her and everything around her and the people she loved. If she really care about herself she will accept someone that love her and saved her form that terrible cursed, but she ignored it because she didn’t notice that she deserved it, she notice that life was so terrible that she deserved more what she was suffering about.

The lady of shalott dies because of desperation and not being able to shout and tell to the world that she deserved more, that she as any other human being deserves to have kids and find love and not run away to a beautiful place to be totally away from the bad things. We all live around bad things , but we have to be capable of say when is enough and when is time to give a little more and work hard for what we want. As a conclusion patience is the key of being successful and is the key of keep going and keep working, meanwhile caring is the emotional and vulnerable part of our life’s that make us know that we have  a heart and that we belong to it.
