Samuel Pepys: Trustworthiness and being Thankful
The following reading we found Samuel Pepys as a secretary
or helper of the British admiral y other words Royalty. His diary and himself
are related to two values that are extremely important this are Trustworthiness
and being Thankful.
Samuel Pepys was in my opinion a trustworthy human being in
only few aspects of his life, since he was always devoted and taking care of
his lord, showing loyalty and integrity that made part of this value, also I found
that in a general aspect Samuel never tried to hide what was going on around
him, he never censured anything and he always keep in detail every move as his
affairs showing honesty and in a negative aspect lack of loyalty and integrity
toward his wife.
In the second value I found something that catch my
attention a lot and was that in any moment inside the diary Samuel Pepys
complains about the life he have lived, transmiting to the one reading this
diary that he was thankful for his job, for the events that he have the honor
to presence as the coronation of Charles II, the loved he received from his
wife, that in many moments he didn’t show he was thankful to her but deep
inside him she was the only woman he really loved.
Samuel Pepys related this values so implicit that it was
hard to find a reason of thankfulness and trustworthiness, but at the end he
let as a message that life is made up of every single action, thought and word
that is expressed, that life is how you see it and the actitude that you take towards it.
Samuel talked in his diary by code, but he made up his mind to make readers
understand how hard or how different was living years ago.
